I started writing music for movie trailers in 2011. Then in 2017 I started teaching other people how to write music for trailers too.

Writing trailer music can be very daunting. On the one hand you have to write great ideas, often recorded yourself, then produce them to the highest possible standard. All from the comfort of your own studio. Or in my case, front room.

Learning to do this is tough, frustrating and sometimes gets you down. That's why I started teaching online. To help make writing music for trailers, ads, TV (and for fun) as simple and as straightforward as reading a book.

💻 Do I need to be able to use a DAW?

Yes, you do need to be able to use a DAW so you can produce music during the mentorship.

📘 Do I have to use Logic?

Nope, you can use whichever DAW you please as long as you know how to use it.

🎼 How much music theory do I need to know?

The wonderful thing about this, and all of my courses is that I try to steer clear of getting too deep into theory. You will be at an advantage if you know how to harmonise the major/minor scales but aside from that you won't need any theory.

🎛 Do I have to know how to mix and master too?

The ability to deliver a good, balanced mix is pretty essential yes. You do not need to be pro level at this (I certainly am not) and you do not need to master your music either.

❓How long is the mentorship?

The mentorship is a 12-week program from start to finish. Each week you will get a 30-minute 1-2-1 call with Rich and pro feedback delivered via video (I use Loom for that).

🤝 Can you guarantee I will get a placement?

Of course not! What I can say is that of all the composers and producers who have taken this mentorship, the ones who are getting work as composers are the ones who put the hours into their work, stay positive and focus on their goals. They also happen to be super nice people (industry secret there)

💰 How much does the mentorship cost?

Currently, the mentorship is an investment of $3500. To secure your space you will need to put down a $500 deposit and payment plans are available too.

⏰ How long do I have access to the courses?

Forever. Access to all the courses is part of this mentorship and so you have it for life. Access it anytime you want. You’ll also get all the course updates and new lessons for FREE forever. This is NOT a membership or subscription btw.

📽 What format is the mentorship delivered in?

The mentorship will happen over Zoom and give you access to a private community here on my site. The courses are video courses hosted by GoHighLevel that requires you to log in and stream the videos. The course also includes downloadable PDFs.
